April 10, 2008: Temporary Stairs

Climbing up and down a ladder was getting a bit old, so I built some temporary stairs with the extra tongue & grove from the floors, and left over 2x8 from the roof work.

Kitchen almost done!

 Kitchen cabinets were delivered a couple weeks ago, we got everything installed. Also got lucky and find a range hood cover that was the perfect size and a really good deal, so picked it up and installed it.  Got the vent insert nstalled this weekend. Finished some lighting above the sink and in the hallway as well as the island plugs and dishwasher.  We installed the shower slider doors in the master as well, and the mirror above the vanity.   Oh and we also got fridge, stove and dishwasher delivered!

Final projects

 We made a dog area outside for Layla, fence and a dog door, and some bags of mulch.  Finished building Jessica closet.  Scribed some trim along the edges of the cabinets. And finally have some furniture.  Got home from the lake and Uncle Duane painted an old saw for us, it's awesome! Also have Grandma's old chair in the living room, we love it.

Loft joists are finished

Finally got back down to the house today (did I mention night work stinks??) & finished off the other 1/2 of the loft floor joists. Ready for some OSB decking on-top. The bottom will be covered with drywall & the top will likely stay unfinished.
