Woohoo

Plumbing and electric passed rough in, and also framing inspection. We are now insulated and almost ready for drywall! Windows are installed too, and a week away from having a garage door. Couple more small trees got pushed over and the view is getting better. Jessica is hiding in the window;)

Getting there!

Electric rough in passed inspection today. Also have the roof finished with shingles on. Water tank found it's new home at the top of the lot. City water will naturally fill it, then we pump it into house. Nice to have a 2000 gallon reserve if the water is off for any reason. Not far away from getting house in town on the market.

Busy day

We made a lot of progress today. Luckily I'm on night work, so I had the day to go out there. We bored under the road and tapped into the water main, didn't hit any rock! The electricians were also out and are over 1/2 done. Roofer finished all the tar paper. And we build a 1/2 wall (instead of a railing) so we can use as a bar-top seating area.

We have a roof

Still needs shingles, but the roof is on and most interior framing is completed. Water meter should also be going in soon.

Ready for trusses

Image
The framers are about done with the second floor, trusses should be going up soon! Met some interesting animals up there today after work, other than the wild turkeys.... I guess the water co brings in goats to eat the vegetation each year lol, didn't know that was a thing.

Framers are fast!

Look at the progress! We have an upstairs already.

Now we are rolling

Garage slab is poured, and framers are starting. Good news on the septic the elevations work out we don't have to pump it towards the drain field, thanks gravity ;) Also installed water shut-off and drain so the garage can be easily disconnected once the house is done. Also exploring the lumber co property to the north of us, they allow hiking which is great. We have hiking trails all the way to a wood fired pizza place!
