Window bucks!






 Mom and Dad were here for a new years visit. We just had our 3x12 window bucks and 4x10 second floor beams cut and delivered.


Dad and I planed them and sanded them.

We also installed one of the girder brackets with three 1" diameter lag bolts!

Today Jessica and I cut the bedroom window and started on the first window buck.

Stain samples

Jessica & I needed to figure out what stain to use to protect the logs. We ordered samples from 3 different companies (listed below). Kitchen almost done!

 Kitchen cabinets were delivered a couple weeks ago, we got everything installed. Also got lucky and find a range hood cover that was the perfect size and a really good deal, so picked it up and installed it.  Got the vent insert nstalled this weekend. Finished some lighting above the sink and in the hallway as well as the island plugs and dishwasher.  We installed the shower slider doors in the master as well, and the mirror above the vanity.   Oh and we also got fridge, stove and dishwasher delivered!

Loft joists are finished

Finally got back down to the house today (did I mention night work stinks??) & finished off the other 1/2 of the loft floor joists. Ready for some OSB decking on-top. The bottom will be covered with drywall & the top will likely stay unfinished.
